Concealing shades and drapery on curved and bay windows
Curved, bay, and radius windows are a problem for off-the-shelf concealment. A straight box or a straight track cannot follow the wall, and on a curve any visible hardware is especially obvious.
The challenge
What makes this condition hard
A standard enclosure and a standard track are straight. A bow or bay window curves or steps through angled segments, so straight hardware either leaves gaps or has to be faceted to fake the curve.
Drapery makes it harder still: a curtain on a curved run needs a track that actually bends, and a surface-mounted curved track is the first thing the eye finds.
The approach
How concealment solves it
For shades, the C Series is made to the radius or the bay geometry, so the enclosure follows the wall and the shade tracks with it.
For drapery, TrackTrim houses a curved track in the ceiling with a curve radius from R250 to R508, so the curtain follows the bend and the hardware disappears.
What to provide
- Provide the radius, or the bay segment angles and dimensions
- For drapery, give the curve radius (R250 to R508)
- Note whether it is a true curve or a faceted bay
- Coordinate the rough-in to the curved or angled ceiling

Can you conceal a shade on a curved window?
